Thank you to everyone who supported our festival this year. Thanks to you, we raised nearly $1500 for missions! Start saving your chocolate recipes now for 2020!
Do you love chocolate? Of course you do – why else would you be reading this page?
Then you are invited to join us for our 6th annual Chocolate Festival on March 2nd, from 1pm to 3pm. Sponsored by our Oxford United Methodist Women, proceeds go to missions projects locally and globally.
We are inviting you to be a taster, a baker, or a contestant by entering your best chocolate creation or by simply attending our Chocolate Festival.
For those who like to compete, bring your favorite chocolate creation to the Fellowship Hall between 8:30 and 10:00 am in order to be judged. Each entry must include one ingredient that is chocolate. Judging starts promptly at 10:00 am. The categories to be judged are Cakes/Cupcakes, Cookies, Candy/Fudge, Brownies, and “Other Desserts” (i.e. pies, mousse, etc.). We will also have our Children’s category again (age 16 and under). NOTE: No “freezer” items can be accepted, due to melting issues during the serving time.
All entries must be received in “whole batches” (whole cake, 18 cupcakes, 36 cookies, entire batch of candy), and be in a disposable container. There is no fee to enter the Chocolate Festival contest; and there are no limits on the number of entries per person. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention at 2:00 pm. “Best in Show” will be awarded a basket of prizes.
Other features will be “Kids Cookie Corner” where they can decorate cookies; and candy jars with several opportunities for you to guess the number in each jar. Plan to compete … and taste all the treats!
Come and enjoy between 1 and 3: It is $5 for 6 samples, and additional tastes are available for 50 cents each. Due to health restrictions patrons cannot bring their own containers, but “to-go” containers will be available.
What a sweet way to spend a winter afternoon…Hope you will join us!
